Custom Font

Instead of using one of the default OnSong^® app fonts, you can tap on the ... button to choose a custom font. Every font family installed on your device is listed, each one rendered in its own typeface so you can read the name and see the face at the same time. Tap a font to apply it to the song.

The four families already sitting in the slots are left out of the list. That's because they're one tap away on the row itself, so they’d only be duplicates here.

Default

This row at the top of the list clears the custom font and returns the chart to the font it would otherwise inherit. A checkmark sits next to Default whenever no custom font is set.

Current Font

If the font you’re using isn’t one of the four slots, it appears in that same top section beneath Default, drawn in its own face and checkmarked. That saves scrolling the whole list to confirm what you’re on, and makes it a short trip back if you try something else and change your mind.

Font Choices

The OnSong^® app stores the font family rather than a specific weight, so bold and italic in your lyrics keeps working. Decorative and symbol fonts are listed alongside the rest because they’re installed on your device, but most make poor reading at a distance. Chord charts are read in glances, not sentences. A plain face at a comfortable size beats a characterful one every time — save the personality for the set list, not the song.
