MultiTracks

OnSong be lettin' ye link backin' tracks t' yer chord charts an' sheet music, allowin' ye t' play along fer practice an' performance. But these can be somewhat limited in that ye have one mix available t' use an' no click track t' keep ye on th' beat. MultiTracks be backin' tracks that contain multiple tracks o' audio, one fer each instrument, as well as a click an' often a cue track that allows ye t' mix th' music t' yer needs an' listen with in-ear monitors t' th' click track. Savvy?

Sounds complicated? Arrr, while there be ways t' use MultiTracks durin' a performance, many o' them involved additional hardware an' special software that be designed fer audio engineers. In OnSong, playin' multitracks be just like playin' normal audio tracks, matey.

Importin' MultiTracks

Since MultiTracks contain multiple files or "stems", they can't be delivered as a simple MP3 file. Instead, they be often bundled together in a compressed ZIP archive. OnSong be designed t' peek inside those ZIP files an' determine if it be a multitrack an' if it be, it goes in yer Audio Media Library. This means ye can download multitracks from a variety o' websites, or make yer own.

But we've made it even easier by partnerin' with MultiTracks for Worship an' PraiseCharts so ye can sign into yer account an' download multitracks directly from those services too, ye scallywag.

Playin' MultiTracks

Playin' a multitrack be super easy. Ye just press th' play button in th' live bar just as ye would a normal backin' track. It be that easy, matey. We automatically mute th' click an' cue tracks so it sounds like a normal backin' track.

Mixin' MultiTracks

Importin' an' playin' multitracks be super easy, but ye can do more with 'em. We've added th' Mixer Widget that ye can open from th' Track Picker or from th' Audio Media Library. From there ye can mute channels or change th' mix.

Usin' MultiTracks Live

Once ye've listened t' a MultiTrack, ye'll want t' add in th' click an' cue. Obviously ye don't want these fer everyone t' hear so ye'll want t' make sure t' play those through in-ear monitors fer only ye t' listen. Ye can use th' Settings screen in th' Mixer Widget t' customize how th' click an' cue tracks be outputted, auto muted channels an' more. Ahoy!
