OnSong believes in yer privacy, matey. Like other connected services, we sometimes need a little bit o’ information about ye t’ make things work. Th’ followin’ explains what we ask fer, and how it be used, so ye can make good decisions about yer personal information.

Personal Information

OnSong be an account-based app that lets ye access yer features from multiple devices, platforms, and versions. We want ye t’ be able t’ access all OnSong has t’ offer with a paid account. When ye first use OnSong 2026, we ask ye t’ setup this account. We prompt ye fer:

First and Last Name
Password

It be common t’ ask fer this information so we can keep in touch and t’ establish an account. In July 2023 we’ve made this information optional so that any personally identifiable information can easily be omitted, albeit with potential limitations. Fer instance, without an email address or password, ye will not be able t’ sign into other devices or th’ OnSong website t’ access yer features. O’ course ye can always go into th’ Account Editor within th’ app and set that up at any time.

Data Usage

OnSong does not share your personal information with any third-party companies and your information is used solely for accessing your account and transactional communications. You can manage other forms of communication you receive from OnSong. We abide by General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) so you can opt in and out o’ email mailin’ lists to stay in the loop about our products and services. OnSong does periodically send promotional information about third-party companies but never shares your information with them. What’s shared with OnSong stays with OnSong.

Some non-identifyin’ data may be used fer improvement o’ OnSong services and features. Fer instance, how th’ app be used and what features be accessed may be aggregated t’ help focus product development and quality assurance. OnSong never sells or uses any personally identifyin’ information. Ye won’t get ads fer a StairMaster™ fer playin’ Led Zeppelin.

Cookies and Trackin’

While OnSong 2026 does not require an Internet connection to operate, there are many web-based resources that can be accessed through the app including our own website at onsongapp.com. Each website, including third-party websites, may contain prompts to allow or disallow cookie usage. OnSong uses the built-in web browser for these requests so your web browser privacy settings apply to each HTTP transaction. Cookies can only be set by these web-based requests per your consent on a per-website basis. In other words, we don’t know what those other websites might do with your data, so please check and agree to their terms and privacy policies before using those services.

OnSong does not track yer usage within th’ OnSong 2026 app but even if we did, it would only be t’ collect aggregate metrics t’ make fer a better user experience.

We’ve always been against ad-based apps, but we’ve recently added th’ ability fer new users t’ try out otherwise paid features fer a limited time by watchin’ an ad. This uses Google AdMob t’ serve ads which prompts fer consent fer data usage regardin’ that service if ye opt t’ watch an ad. O’ course ye can decline consent which will result in ads not bein’ available t’ temporarily preview features. Please see website usage fer more details below.

Website Usage

If ye access th’ OnSong website, there be a different privacy policy. That be because we use a number o’ third-party frameworks and services that be unique t’ our website content and services. Fer instance, ye may make purchases on our website which requires additional data necessary t’ complete th’ payment transaction.

We also prompt you on our website to consent to cookie usage. Declining to accept cookies will only retain a cookie for authenticated session state on the website. If we didn’t do this, things would break. This generated random code is non-identifiable and is only used for the operation of the website and cannot be used for any tracking purposes outside of the website. If you consent to cookies, other services such as Google Analytics will be allowed to set cookies tracking standard web metrics and reporting. Passwords and Authentication

OnSong does not store any passwords used to access web-based services within the app. Instead, when you sign into your OnSong account or third-party services, we use web-based authentication methods over secure socket layers to authenticate you. Once authenticated, a unique token is returned. This token is stored securely in your device’s keychain so you can continue to access the service without having to login again. Some third-party content services accessible through OnSong 2026 may store this authenticated state using a cookie. Please see the third-party website for specific terms of use and privacy policies regarding those services.

If ye have password-protected PDF files, ye may be prompted t’ enter a password. This be retained in plain-text on yer device in yer OnSong library database so that th’ PDF file can be viewed durin’ a live performance with additional promptin’. Please keep in mind that this password may be transmitted if ye share th’ song or backup th’ library and upload it t’ a remote storage location.

Data Retention, Rights, and Deletion

If ye be concerned about yer data, ye can always manage yer account t’ delete yer email address, name, etc.

O’ course ye may no longer use OnSong 2026 and want t’ clean up any data ye’ve provided us. Blimey, we’ll be sad t’ see ye go, but we understand. Ye can always cancel yer subscription and even delete yer account. Keep in mind that this will terminate any features ye be usin’, so it be likely safer t’ just delete yer personally identifiable information in yer account profile or reach out fer billin’ support if ye need assistance.

When ye submit cases t’ our support crew, yer library and settings be also transmitted fer th’ sole purpose o’ troubleshootin’, issue resolution, and trainin’ purposes. Once th’ issue be resolved, yer data be deleted after a brief grace period just in case th’ case be reopened.
