Text Tools

Th' text tools palette be used t' perform operations on th' text content o' th' song. This can help ye change text quickly or switch an' fix chord formattin'.

Search an' Replace

This section o' th' text tools palette be used t' search an' replace text in th' Song Editor. This be useful fer replacin' words or chords when usin' bracketed chords. Fer instance, ye can change all instances o' [A4] t' [Asus4].

T' use, type th' search value in th' first field an' th' replace value in th' second field. Then press th' Perform Search/Replace button t' perform th' operation.

Chord Format

This section includes toggle buttons that allow ye t' switch between th' two supported formats. If there be any square brackets located in th' song content, th' Bracketed Chords button be selected. Otherwise th' Chords Over Lyrics button be selected. Press th' opposite button t' reformat th' text content into th' desired chord format.

It be useful t' switch th' bracketed chords when splittin' or combinin' lines. This be because th' chords will travel with th' lyrics in this case. Ye can then switch t' chords over lyrics if ye would like t' position chords in a more visual manner, savvy?

Fix Spaces

This section provides a single-use tool fer correctin' issues that may occur when convertin' text from a word processor. Ye may find that chords be pushed t' th' right an' beyond th' lyrics they used t' reside over. This be due t' variable-width fonts that require many more space characters t' align chords above lyrics.

Press th' Fix Alignment Spaces button t' have chords detected an' th' space between th' chords reduced by a specific amount. This usually will align th' chords very close t' their original positions when viewed in a word processor or printed. From there ye can more easily adjust th' chord positions, matey.
