The Clicky Metronome Thingy
This screen lets you mess with MIDI clock — flip it on, flip it off, & pretend you understand what it does. Buckle up, peeps:
Enabled
Look. MIDI clock fires 24 teeny-tiny MIDI signals per beat. That's a lot of data sprayin' everywhere. Pro tip: only use this on actual wired MIDI cables, 'cause wireless MIDI is basically a game of telephone played by robots, & latency will wreck your vibe. Flip the switch & watch your song tempo get broadcast to every MIDI device within screamin' distance. You're welcome.
Behavior
This is where you pick how MIDI gets sent. Stepper control, baby. Choose your own adventure:
- Play continuously sends MIDI clock vibes 24/7 based on whatever song you're starin' at. Switch to a song with no tempo? Cool. The old tempo keeps vibin' in the void. Default. Living on the edge.
- Stops without tempo keeps blastin' MIDI clock & updates tempo when you switch songs. BUT—& this is a big but—if the new song has no tempo, the whole thing just... stops. Dead. Until you find a song with an actual beat. Existential, much?
- Stops after 1-30 seconds sends MIDI clock when you load a song, then ghostes it after 1–30 seconds (you pick). No tempo on the song? Clock dies. New song with tempo? Clock resurrects itself automatically. It's like a tiny digital zombie.
Time Adjustment
MIDI clock sends so many events that your device might lag & drift. Because hardware is freakin' imperfect. Fix it here:
- No clock adjustment sends MIDI as-is, warts & all. Default. We're not gonna help.
- Adjust 75%-12% slower/faster lets you tweak the tempo in 0.5% baby steps. Slow it down, speed it up, find your Goldilocks zone.
