Feel

The feel menu lets you tweak parameters to make chord playback less perfect and more human. Here are the three ways we do that:

Timing

As with any rhythm, it's possible to rush or jump the beat, or lay back behind the beat. That's what timing does. You can choose from:

  • Pull plays the chord behind the beat — laid back — preventing the song from rushing.
  • On plays the chords and notes on the beat. Default.
  • Push rushes playing the chords and notes in front of the beat.

Looseness

This determines how accurately each note plays in relation to the other notes. For instance, if you're playing a four note arpeggio, the four notes may not accurately play on each eighth note.

  • Tight plays the notes directly on the beat. Default.
  • Loose plays the notes more naturally and not quite hitting the mark.
  • Sloppy plays each note more off beat giving a less polished feel.

Dynamics

When playing chords, it's unlikely that every note is played with the same amount of pressure or velocity. Dynamics can shift how hard each note is played.

  • Even means each note is played with the exact same velocity. Default.
  • Lively means each note can very a little from every other note to sound more human.
  • Wild plays each note with much more dynamic range.
