OnSong 1.98

OnSong 1.98 was released on January 16, 2014. it is a brand new update that gives OnSong a great new look on iOS 7.

New

  • Completely new redesign for iOS 7 users that looks and works great.
  • New registration and Getting Started screens to help you learn OnSong quickly.
  • OnSong Connect provides a new way to share with your team over your WiFi network.

Fixes

  • Fixed a crash when tapping "Choose Custom Track" under iOS 5.1 and earlier.
  • Fixed a crash when opening the external video menu or projecting lyrics crashes under iOS 5.1 and earlier.
  • Fixed an issue with black boxes appearing on the screen when using scanned or complex PDF files and the device is running out of memory.
  • Fixed the quick chord bar buttons to reduce the size of the font for longer chord formations and added a bit of padding around each button.
  • Fixed an issue where the initial preview of lyrics projection would have large fonts until the font slider was changed.
  • Fixed an issue with the "adjust lyrics to fit" option was not being respected for lyrics projection.
  • Fixed an issue where the chord transposition toggle was not being respected for the chord diagram displayed on the page.
  • Fixed an issue where tapping a foot pedal, hot corner or navigation zone to start autoscroll, will cause the audio track picker to appear when a song is not linked to the chord chart.
  • Fixed an issue in the settings screen where the sliders and text fields do not scale correctly.
  • Fixed an issue with the bluetooth pedal warning that prevents it from appearing incorrectly.
  • Fixed an issue where the MIDI values were not added to the metadata if the popover was hidden before navigating to the first screen of the metadata editor.
  • Fixed an issue where WebDAV was not uploading correctly because the host was lost.
  • Fixed issues with black boxes appearing when displaying PDF files due to memory issues.

Changes

  • Changed the width of quick chord buttons to a more narrow size when used in portrait view or when there are too many chords.
  • Changed how the share menu is handled on the iPhone, preferring navigation to the left.
  • Changed the file type icon set in the import and sharing screens to better suite iOS 7.

Added

  • Added a new OnSong API that allows other apps and services to interact with running versions of OnSong.
  • Added the new OnSong Connect method of sharing to eventually replace OnCue in networked environments.
  • Added the quick chord buttons back into the old chord picker.
  • Added the new "Connect" screen to allow connecting clients to a server and vice versa using the OnSong Connect API.
  • Added the ability to sort chord buttons alphabetically or by popularity. This is configurable in Settings » Editor Options » Sort Chord Buttons.
  • Added the ability to fully customize the "special symbols" on the quick chord bar. This allows you to add [], {}, () and other two-character combinations. OnSong will then automatically use them to surround text.
  • Added the ability to customize the additional symbols that appear in the quick chord bar. This can be changed by adding characters separated by a space in Settings » Additional Symbols.
  • Added the ability to turn off the quick chord bar in Settings » Editor Options » Quick Chord Bar.
  • Added the ability to send MIDI note and control changes when a page is loaded. This is done using the standard MIDI: metatag. This is done by using MIDI: N60@2 CC7:63. In this example, the note #60 (G#) is set to 127 velocity on channel #3 and the volume (CC7) is set to 50% on all channels.
  • Added the ability to highlight lyrics on the chord chart using a caret. For instance, to highlight a line of lyrics yellow, just add this: >yellow:This line is yellow>
  • Added the ability to listen for control change on/off state and assign actions independently. This can be configured under the MIDI Triggers » Settings » Control Change.
  • Added the ability to map MIDI command to foot pedal actions.
  • Added print preview to iPhone.
  • Added the Navigation editor in the Utilities menu, replacing the original foot pedal option. English only.
  • Added the ability to enabled large fonts in the display settings with a configuration file.
  • Added an "add" button to the MIDI screen to allow MIDI events to be added without listening.
  • Added the ability to configure foot pedals, navigation zones, hot corners and page layout on both iPhone and iPad through the new Navigation screen under Utilities » Editors » Navigation.
  • Added the ability to map a MIDI action to a foot pedal process, hot corner or navigation zone. These are currently single state only.
